End-of-Life Pet Support

End-of-Life Pet Support Information

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the most difficult experiences a family can go through.

Our End-of-Life Pet Support service offers calm, compassionate, in-home guidance to help you and your pet move through this time with comfort, dignity, and care.

We are here to support both you and your pet—emotionally, practically, and gently—so you don’t have to navigate this alone.

Please see below for more detailed information.

This service is designed to bring calm, clarity, and support when everything feels overwhelming.

  • In-home presence where your pet feels most safe and comfortable
  • Gentle emotional and practical support for you and your family
  • Guidance before, during, and after your pet’s passing
  • Help creating a peaceful, low-stress environment
  • Support with routines, comfort measures, and end-of-life preparation
  • Aftercare guidance and next steps when you are ready

We do not perform medical procedures or euthanasia.

We work alongside your veterinary team to provide emotional support, companionship, and guidance throughout the process. Our role is to help ensure your pet’s environment is calm, familiar, and filled with love.

If you wish, we can help you create gentle legacy moments with your pet during this time. These are quiet, respectful photos that focus on love, connection, and presence—not posed or clinical images.

Legacy photos can help capture:

  • A final cuddle in their favourite spot
  • Quiet moments of connection and comfort
  • Their personality and familiar expressions
  • The love shared between you and your pet

These images are never rushed or forced. They are offered with care, sensitivity, and your comfort as the priority. For many families, they become a deeply meaningful way to honour and remember their pet’s life.

This support may be helpful if:

  • Your pet’s quality of life is declining
  • You are preparing for a planned euthanasia appointment
  • You wish for your pet to remain at home in a familiar environment
  • You are feeling uncertain, overwhelmed, or emotionally unprepared
  • You want support for yourself, your family, or other pets in the home

You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

Our focus is to be a steady, compassionate presence during an incredibly emotional time.

We move at your pace and follow your wishes. Some families want quiet companionship, others want guidance and conversation, and some simply want someone there to hold space. There is no right or wrong way to do this—we are here to support what feels right for you.

Our goal is always the same: comfort, dignity, and love.

Support continues even after your pet has passed.

We can gently assist with:

  • Understanding aftercare options
  • Memorial and remembrance ideas
  • Grief support resources
  • Optional follow-up check-ins for emotional support

We understand this is not an easy service to reach out for.

If you’re considering support, we welcome you to connect for a no-pressure conversation. We can talk through your situation, answer questions, and help you decide what feels right for you and your pet.

Do you perform euthanasia?

No. We do not provide medical procedures. We can, however, be present for emotional support during your veterinary appointment if requested.

Can you be there during my pet’s passing?

Yes. We can provide calm, in-home support during this time if you would like us there.

How do I know when it’s time?

This is a deeply personal decision. We can help support and guide conversations, but decisions are always made with you and your veterinary team.

What happens after my pet passes?

We can help guide you through next steps and aftercare options when you are ready.

End-of-Life Pet Support is offered with deep compassion, presence, and care, supported by training in pet end-of-life (death doula) services.

It is an honour to support families during this sacred and emotional time, and our intention is always to bring peace, clarity, and gentle support when it is needed most.

We are a Certified Animal Death Doula through Virya, the Ontario School of Universal Energy and completed our certification in March 2026.
